About  St. Louis Cardinals

St. Louis Cardinals Tickets 2019 Outlook

The Cardinals have flown to the top early and might stay there! They have added big first baseman Paul Goldschmidt, top hurler Andrew Miller, infielder Drew Robinson, and Matt Wieters behind the plate. Paul Goldschmidt and Paul DeJong have been very solid offensively thus far. Marcell Ozuna is still knocking them out of the park. John Gant, Adam Wainwright, and Jack Flaherty have shown some strong starting pitching with Jordan Hicks leading the way on saves. The Cardinals are hungry to return to the playoffs after three years of drought. And they sure look like they might, with Mike Schildt as skipper in his first full season.

The St. Louis Cardinals among the most decorated teams in MLB history. Known as the Perfectos for just one season (1899), the team officially adopted the Cardinals moniker in 1900. They've been called The Redbirds, The Birds, and The Birds on the Bat, but most fans just call them The Cards. Although the Cardinals have had several home stadiums, they currently call the new Busch Stadium their home, which opened in 2006.

As a wildly successful franchise, the St. Louis Cardinals have earned 12 division titles, 19 National League pennants, and 11 World Series championships (second only to the New York Yankees). Its players have earned significant recognition as well: 20 league MVP titles, four batting Triple Crowns, and three Cy Young Awards. Famous Cardinals players include Bob Gibson, Ozzie Smith, Stan Musial, Bruce Sutter, Lou Brock, and Dizzy Dean, all of whom have been inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame. In recent years, players like Mark McGwire and Albert Pujols helped lead the team to victory. Among the team's current notable players are Miles Mikolas, Marcell Ozuna, Matt Carpenter, and catcher Yadier Molina. Mikolas and Molina were both selected for the 2018 MLB All-Star Game. Ozuna won NL Player of the Week for June11-17 and Carpenter won NL Player of the Week for July 19-22.

The 2018 St. Louis Cardinals season is the 137th season for the franchise and their 13th season at Busch Stadium. After the 2017 season Forbes ranked the Cardinals the seventh-highest valued team – valued at $1.9 billion with a $319 million revenue and $40 million operating income. The team so far has had a great season. St. Louis went 0-2 in March, 15-10 in April, 15-12 in May, 12-15 in June, 12-14 in July, and 20-5 in August. Their record as of August 31st is 75-59 which is only four games behind the Chicago Cubs. The Cardinals are ahead of their NL Central rivals the Milwaukee Brewers, Pittsburgh Pirates, and Cincinnati Reds. If the Cardinals continue to play with the tenacity they have played with all season, then it is likely they will qualify for the playoffs. Their last regular season game will be on September 30th with a game against the Cubs at Wrigley Field. Visit Busch Stadium and watch the Cards play whether against their longtime rivals, the Chicago Cubs, or another team with tickets available at TicketNetwork.com!
