Soon, the Rain’s reputation for performing “exact” Beatles covers transformed them into a full-time tribute act. In 1979, they were even hired to record Beatles songs for the biographical film Birth of the Beatles.
Still performing in a concert format, Rain toured continuously through the eighties and nineties, appearing regularly on the casino circuit. While these concerts remained popular, the band’s producers developed the idea of expanding into a Broadway-style show. Rain: A Tribute to the Beatles was first produced at the prestigious Pantages Theatre in Hollywood, California, and the show was an immediate hit.
