Dierks Bentley got his start in country music in 2003, when his eponymous debut album was released. The very first single from the album, “What Was I Thinkin,” made it to number one on the Billboard country airplay chart, and the album was certified platinum.  

2004 was a busy year for the rising country star. Bentley got a taste of the touring life when he crossed North America in support of country legend George Strait, and then later with Kenny Chesney and Keith Urban. He made appearances at festivals, did shows with Trace Atkins and Blake Shelton, and had numerous solo gigs at smaller venues. That year, Dierks Bentley won the Academy of Country Music Award for Best New Artist. 

Bentley’s rigorous touring schedule continued into 2005, when Bentley’s second album, Modern Day Drifter, produced more hits for the rising country star, including two more number one hits: “Come a Little Closer” and “Settle for a Slowdown.” He performed in more than 125 concerts that year, and the venues were getting bigger, with Bentley billed as the headliner in most of them. Since then, Bentley has continued to tour every year, and his concerts are always best sellers. 

Additionally, Bentley continued to release music throughout this period, with seven more studio albums charting between 2006 and 2018. A Dierks Bentley Greatest Hits: Every Mile a Memory album was also released in 2008, and Live from Soho was released on the iTunes label in 2009.
