Old Dominion is bringing the best in contemporary country live concert after concert, show after show. With three full-length albums and three EP's, they have yet to make it to "veteran" status. But Old Dominion's ability to release hit after hit is remarkable, and makes it worth for you to purchase Old Dominion tickets whenever they become available. Matthew Ramsey, Trevor Rosen, Whit Sellers, Geoff Sprung, and Brad Tursi came together in 2007 and dedicated their band name to the state of Virginia. Originally, Old Dominion was formed to perform songs that band members had written for other artists. Tursi, for example, wrote "Light It Up", one of Luke Bryan's biggest hits.
It wasn't until 2014 when the band would release their self-titled EP, charting at No. 33 on Top Country Albums. Their first debut studio album, Meat and Candy, was released the following year. "Break Up with Him" would shortly top the Country Airplay chart, and Old Dominion was on its way to reaching the forefront of the genre. The band is signed to RCA Nashville, the top dog music label for country artists.
2017 brought fans new Old Dominion music in the form of their second studio album, Happy Endings. "No Such Thing as a Broken Heart" topped the Country Airplay chart upon release. "Make It Sweet" came out at the tail end of 2018, along with the "Make It Sweet" Old Dominion Tour. The song was featured on the band's third and latest album, Old Dominion.
And trust us, an Old Dominion live show is just like, if not better, than their fantastic recordings.
Fans will get to hear a variety of tunes, ranging from massive hits to their lesser known material, even some songs written for other performers! The band used to worry about their success in transitioning from songwriters to artists. I don't think they have to much to worry about. Lead singer Matthew Ramsey is more than happy to interact with his loyal fans, high-fiving front rowers at every show and showing their appreciation.
Old Dominion live concerts are an intimate experience. Ramsey and company will take the time to talk to the audience, telling stories between songs about their early songwriting days and how they came together as a unit. They speak about how tough it is to make it as an artist, and how much effort one must put in. Expect to leave the Old Dominion concert with a full heart and a smile across your face.
