Buy your Coachella tickets today! April's most prominent festival will be back in 2018, spanning two weekends during the month. Each year, over 100 bands make up the festival's lineup, and Coachella 2018 is no exception. The Weeknd, Beyonce & Eminem are the headliners for the festival this year.
The origins of the Coachella Festival date back to 1993, when rock bands Tool and Pearl Jam performed at California's Empire Polo Club. Six years later, the first Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival was launched at the site. The first festival drew a crowd of 25,000 people who endured the grueling heat throughout the day; the Empire Polo Grounds sit in one of the hottest and driest areas of the Colorado Desert. The first festival ended up not generating any profit, causing the following year's festival to be canceled.
Needing to convince area officials that Coachella could make money, promoters brought in headlining acts like Bjork and Oasis. The festival was moved to April to provide relief from the area's high temperatures, and it was extended to two days. The changes worked; the crowds grew larger year after year to the point where Coachella has become one of the most popular music festivals in the country. Taking place in mid-April, Coachella is one of the inaugural events of the music festival season and occurs several days before the Stagecoach Festival, which shares the same site.
Other headliners from previous years include Depeche Mode, Madonna, Muse, Jay-Z, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Don't miss your chance to see the hottest acts in music today. Find Coachella tickets today on TicketNetwork.com!
