Expect a huge turn around for the Chicago Bulls in 2019! Chicago Bulls tickets will be must-have as the team looks to improve upon a 22-win season last year. The talented roster they now possess will have fans at the United Center on their feet all night long.
Led by Lauri Markkanen, the second coming of Dirk Nowitzki, the Chicago Bulls will pay with him squarely in the spotlight. The power forward can shoot the three, put the ball on the floor and get to the basket, rebound and is very aware of making his teammates better as well. The primary ball handler for the Chicago Bulls this season will be rookie Coby White. He starred at North Carolina as a freshman, and will be a key part of the future in Chicago. Other extremely talented players include Denzel Valentine, Zach LaVine and Wendell Carter Jr.
A major part of the offseason for the Bulls was to get a veteran presence in the locker room. Otto Porter Jr., Thaddeus Young and Tomas Satoransky were all signings that the Chicago Bulls fan base can get excited for. They will add stability and are players that have perfected their roles in the NBA. They will be instrumental in ensuring that the new wave of young talent for the Bulls progresses as planned.
Although a return to the NBA Finals might be a few years away, the Chicago Bulls will be competitive from the jump this season.
For many outside of the Chicago area, the history of the Chicago Bulls franchise begins and ends with two words: Michael Jordan. While his time in the Windy City most certainly changed the history and future of the team, fans who have bought Bulls basketball tickets over the years have seen many other great players put on the Bulls uniform. Established in 1966, the franchise built itself around being a tough, defense-minded team who would outwork their opponents to accomplish their goals. They acquired players to do just that in Jerry Sloan, Bob Love and Chet Walker. Although they were unable to reach championship levels, they were competitive in the NBA. Today, Jerry Sloan and Bob Love have their jersey numbers retired to the rafters in respect of what they did during their playing days.
After hitting the bottom of the standings in the early 1980's, the Bulls were able to change their history by taking Michael Jordan in the 1984 NBA Draft. He immediately paid dividends, winning NBA Rookie of the Year and finishing third in the league in scoring. Now knowing they had a superstar player to build their team around, the Chicago Bulls front office went to work. Over the next few seasons, the team continued to add young talent to their roster, acquiring the likes of Horace Grant, Scottie Pippen, Bill Cartwright and John Paxson. They quickly became one of the toughest teams to play in the NBA playoffs, and everyone knew their future was bright. During the 1989-90 basketball season, the Bulls made another big move, hiring Phil Jackson to be their new head coach. Jackson proved to be the final piece of the puzzle for the team from Chi-town.
The 1990's were dominated by the trio of Jordan, Pippen and Jackson. The Bulls dynasty began on June 12, 1991, when they captured their first NBA Championship by beating the Lakers four games to one. That momentum carried through the following years, as Chicago was able to win three consecutive titles, completing what became known as the "Three-Peat." Jordan unexpectedly retired following their third title, sending shockwaves through the entire NBA. It wasn't long before Jordan saw that he still had the passion to play basketball and returned to the game he loved. With Jordan, Pippen and Jackson now reunited, it was like deja vu for Chicago fans, and the second chapter of the Bulls dynasty began. For the second time the team was able to capture three consecutive titles and firmly made their place in basketball history.
The city had high hopes for former MVP Derrick Rose. However, an injury riddled career forced the Chicago Bulls to head in a different direction.
While the franchise has not been able to duplicate the success of the Jordan era, they look to build a new winner in the Windy City.
