Inter Miami is an American professional soccer club based in Miami. The club was recently founded in January 28th, 2018 and has as president the famous soccer player David Beckham who ended his career in April 2013. Inter Miami CF was first named as Miami Beckham United. The team headcoah is Diego Alonso, a former soccer player who played for Club Atlético Bella Vista of Montevideo, Uruguay. The team currently plays at Inter Miami CF Stadium in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Inter Miami CF emerged after an MLS proposal to place an expansion franchise in Miami in which it gained interest from Stephen M. Ross, owner of the Miami Dolphins. Inter Miami CF will have a new stadium known as Miami Freedom Park, which is currently being proposed. For now, the team plays at the Inter Miami CF Stadium in Fort Lauderdale. The new stadium is supposed to be done by 2020, the stadium will contain 25,000 seats, retail shops, hotels, restaurants, and a training center to be built in a 131-acre in Miami, Florida. The proposal for the construction of the stadium still depends on 4 votes and some places are being considered for the construction of the new stadium. Some locations that had previously been considered to build the new stadium included: Dodge Island at PortMiami, the Downtown Miami waterfront at Museum Park, a site adjacent to MLB's Marlins Park, and a privately owned site in Miami's Overtown.
