Rookie quarterback Gardner Minshew stepped in for the injured Nick Foles and although his performance didn't result in many wins, he brought hope to Jacksonville. With great plays and a great personality, the city of Jacksonville fell in love with Minshew. With Pro Bowl running back Leonard Fournette backing him up, the 2020 season is looking good for the Jags. Find your Jacksonville Jaguars tickets today to be a part of the action.

    History of Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jacksonville Jaguars were founded in 1995 as part of the NFL’s expansion program. Although it seemed unlikely that Jacksonville would gain an NFL franchise because of the city’s smaller market, NFL owners voted 26-2 in favor of awarding a team to Jacksonville. Headed by Tom Coughlin for their first season in 1995, the Jaguars finished with a record of 4-12. The next season, the franchise finished the regular season with a record of 9-7, which was good enough for a playoff appearance. The team would go on to make the playoffs for three more consecutive seasons. In 2000, the Jaguars’ performance began to slip, as they finished the season 7-9. After a 6-10 finish in 2002, Tom Coughlin was fired and was replaced by head coach Jack Del Rio. Del Rio led the Jags to playoff appearances in 2005 and again in 2007. Del Rio was fired during the 2011 season, after the team had posted a 3-8 record through the first 12 weeks of the season.
